Most of us love to eat delicious food. We also want to stay healthy, strong, and energetic. Well, there is a bright yellow spice from the East that we can put in our food to help us do both. It’s called Turmeric.
For thousands of years, turmeric has been used as a dye, a spice, and a medicine in South East Asia, India, and the Middle East. It has long been known for its health properties, but recently Western scientists have discovered just how powerful of a medicine turmeric really is. It can help prevent cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol, improve our liver function, and more.
Because turmeric is so healthy and delicious, we should try to use more of it when we cook. For example, it tastes great with onions, garlic, curries, steamed vegetables, and eggs. And one of my all-time favorite dishes is turmeric chicken.
So, make sure you have some turmeric on your spice rack and use it often, because there is nothing better than delicious food that keeps you healthy.
