A simple sit-to-stand test could predict your longevity. It measures balance, strength, and flexibility. It tests your ability to go from standing to sitting cross-legged, then standing back up.
Everyone starts with a score of 10. You lose points for using body parts other than your legs and core.
Hand used for support: -1 point
Knee used for support: -1 point
Forearm used for support: -1 point
One hand on knee or thigh: -1 point
Side of the leg used for support: -1 point
Those who scored in the lowest range (0-3) had a six times greater chance of dying than those in the highest range (8-10.)
