fed up: to be annoyed or frustrated with something or someone
Arnold Schwarzenegger Fixes Hole In LA Street Himself
Three men, three potholes, three different solutions. In Houston, Ed Pettitt was fed up with a pothole that wasn’t getting fixed. He stood in the deep pothole full of dirt and posted a photo on Facebook. A few days later, the city sent workers to fill the hole. In Virginia, Josh Anderson was also fed up. He planted a tree in a large pothole after the city failed to fix it for over a year. A TikTok video he made about the tree in the pothole went viral. The city finally took action within 24 hours of his video. Even the former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was fed up by a giant pothole that wasn’t getting fixed in his LA neighborhood. He took a do-it-yourself attitude and filled it himself. While these three solutions are creative, it’s sad that citizens need to pick up shovels or use social media to shame local governments to take action.
