It’s been several days now since you took our 7-day course. We really hope you enjoyed it. Now in that course, Dan and I taught you some very important things you need to know if you want to increase your English speaking fluency and confidence.
On Day 1, we taught you to see the big picture. Not to focus on small details like grammar patterns and vocabulary, but to see the wider picture. That’s important.
We also taught you, in Day 2, to use English. Don’t study English. You have done lots of studying now it’s time to use the English that you have studied for so many years.
On Day 3, we taught you to welcome mistakes. Mistakes are your friends. They will really help you if you embrace those mistakes and don’t worry about making them. In fact, celebrate your mistakes because they are the stepping stones to greater English fluency.
In Day 4, we taught you to fake it or make it, and this is about changing your attitude. Start with an attitude of confidence. And if you start with that attitude of confidence and keep it going, wow, it will start to change your actual feeling and you will start to feel more confident and that will help you in English conversations.
In Day 5, we taught you to use your imagination. How important it is to see the lessons, to hear them, to smell them. And when you can do that with the stories, you will process the language on a deeper, more natural level. And then you will learn the vocab and grammar you need, naturally.
In Day 6, we taught you the importance of variety and repetition, and how that will help you achieve English fluency.
And finally, use it or lose it was the message in Day 7, and this means you have got to start using it every single day. And if you don’t keep doing it, if you don’t keep practicing each day you will lose the momentum that you have gained.
So those are the 7 steps. Now if there’s one step that you can take away from this experience, it would be step 2, day 2, and that is use English, don’t study English. Now some people might ask the question, “Why not study English? Isn’t that how you learn it?” Well, yes, studying is very important but you have already studied English probably for many years. Is it giving you the results that you need when it comes to speaking? When it comes to being a good conversationalist? If not, you need to change your approach.
Take a look at how children learn. They learn very naturally. They don’t study out of books. They start at a very young age and they listen. For two years they listen. And then they start speaking in words, phrases, short sentences and longer sentences. They don’t need books. They don’t need to study vocabulary and grammar. Have you ever heard someone say, “Learn English like a child”? Well if you have, I don’t recommend doing that because you are not a child. You are an adult, and adults have a different brain structure than children. Adults have long life experiences and they have a different set of problems. So, you need to learn like an adult.
Now what are those problems that adults have? Well, there are many. But, most adults, if you are like me and you are like many of us, you worry. You have anxiety. You have fear when it comes to speaking English. You worry about making mistakes. You worry about how you are going to sound. You are afraid that people will laugh at your pronunciation or they won’t understand you. And that comes from our conditioning. We have studied English for so long. We have this “study mind.” And when we apply the study mind to conversation, it doesn’t work. We start to have worry and anxiety. So you have got to throw the study mind away and you have got to start using English in more natural ways, fearless ways, confident ways. Those ways will help you become the kind of English speaker you want to be, and we have designed our method to help you do that. All of our materials and the techniques we give you, you learned in the 7-day course.
And that leads you to now. What do you do now? Well, you need to go back to our Day 7 message: Use it or lose it. You have built some momentum now over the last 7 to 10 days. You are now ready to continue using that method and we have designed a course just for you. It’s called the True Stories English Fluency Course. And in that course there are a number of different, really interesting stories that are similar to the materials you downloaded in the 7-day course. But, those materials in the 7-day course are just small samples of much richer, much deeper stories that you can download and you can practice every day. And if you keep doing it, you keep using it, you keep practicing it day by day, week by week, month by month, you are going to notice big changes in your English speaking confidence and fluency.
Now, are you not sure if the True Stories Course is for you? I say try it and see how it goes. Remember, Dan and I offer a 100% Money Back Guarantee on the course. So if for any reason, after you try it for a few weeks or so, if it’s not working out for you, send us a quick email and we will refund your money. It’s that simple. So I recommend trying it. Keep going. Keep building because you are on the road to fluency.
