Angry Driver Crashes Car into Store After Refund Refused
breaking point: the moment when someone feels so much stress or frustration that they lose control of their emotions or actions
A man in Sandy, Utah, shocked everyone by driving his newly bought car straight into a car dealership. On Monday, he had purchased a used Subaru Outback for $4,000. Later that same day, he returned feeling very angry about the condition of the car. He spoke with the staff, demanding his money back. When they refused because the deal was final, he became even more upset. Frustrated, the man threatened to drive the car through the front door—and later did.
He returned at 4 p.m. and drove the car into the showroom, causing $10,000 in damage. Luckily, no one was hurt. The police arrested the driver, Michael Lee Murray. He was later released but must return to court. When asked why he did it, he explained, “I probably shouldn’t have done it, but I guess I just hit a breaking point.”
