Man Turns Paperclip into a House – Find Out How
capture someone’s attention: to attract someone’s interest
Canadian Kyle MacDonald turned a simple red paperclip into a house. This isn’t fiction—it’s the true story of one man’s crazy idea. Kyle took the small paperclip and posted it online, hoping to trade it for something better. His first trade was swapping the paperclip for a fish-shaped pen. The 2nd trade was the pen for a doorknob, and the third trade was the doorknob for a small camp stove. He continued like this, with each trade becoming slightly more valuable than the last. In just eight trades, he had turned his paperclip into a truck. By his 13th trade, he miraculously traded up to a role in a Hollywood movie. By this time, he had captured the attention of the media. This led to his ultimate trade—a movie role for a farmhouse. Kyle encourages others to try his trick. He said, “If you have a paperclip, trade it away. You might only get a fish pen, but it might be the single step that leads to an amazing journey.”
