Town’s AI Mayor Candidate Gets Shut Down
doomed to fail: certain to be unsuccessful
In Wyoming, a man named Victor Miller created an AI to run for mayor in the town of Cheyenne. He named the AI “VIC,” which stands for “Virtually Integrated Citizen.” Victor trained VIC using documents from the town’s council meetings. He hoped VIC would win the election on November 5.
However, the company that Victor used to make VIC has shut it down. OpenAI said using their AI for political purposes was against their rules. AI VIC becoming mayor was always doomed to fail. The law in Wyoming says that only real people can run for political office.
