This Face Tattoo Could Save Lives
in the works: something that is being planned, developed, or created, but is not finished yet
An e-tattoo on your forehead may one day help prevent deadly accidents. It looks simple, but it can read your brainwaves and tell when you’re working too hard. Scientists created this e-tattoo to help people in stressful jobs, like air traffic controllers.
Right now, most high-stress jobs rely on people to say when they are too tired to work. But people often don’t realize how tired they really are.
Recently, there have been tragic accidents caused by overworked staff. In one case, a helicopter and a passenger plane crashed, killing 55 people. Only one air traffic controller was working at the time, doing the job of several people.
The e-tattoo may help stop these problems. It uses sensors to check brainwaves and sends the information to a computer. A better version of the e-tattoo is already in the works, with researchers trying to improve its accuracy and comfort.
