93-Year-Old Became a Champion After Starting at 73
it’s never too late: there is always time to begin something new or make a change
At 93, Richard Morgan from Ireland shows you can start a fitness routine at any age. He is a four-time world champion indoor rower for his age group. Even more impressive, he didn’t start exercising until the age of 73.
Richard trains daily in his small shed at home. He has rowed a distance equal to ten times around the world! His routine includes rowing 30 kilometers weekly and weight training two to three times a week, along with a high-protein diet.
His physical condition and lifestyle are the focus of a scientific study on healthy aging. During a simulated rowing test, his heart rate reached 153 beats per minute, a sign of excellent cardiovascular health. Despite his age, he has the aerobic capacity and muscle health of someone in their 30s or 40s. His story is an exceptional example of how it’s never too late to benefit from physical activity.
