Each autumn, squirrels bury around 10,000 nuts to prepare for winter. Their memories are so good that they can find up to 4,000 of them later. But not all squirrels are hard workers. About 20% prefer to steal instead of searching for their own food.
A BBC documentary used a robot squirrel carrying a nut to record their sneaky behavior. In the video, the robot is robbed of his nut by a real squirrel. The thief quickly buried his stolen food. The squirrel thought his nut was safe, but another thief was waiting for the perfect moment to steal it.
