Man Survives Shark Attack Thanks to Dolphins
number is up: about to die or experience a serious failure or setback
In 1996, Martin Richardson survived a shark attack in the Red Sea in Egypt. After being bit five times, he lost almost 3 liters of blood and thought his number was up. He said, “I was waiting for a feeding frenzy… I knew it was circling me…”
Then something miraculous happened. Dolphins came to his rescue! They stopped the shark from attacking Martin again. Soon, a boat reached him, and he was taken to the hospital. He needed more than 300 stitches but survived the ordeal.
Not everyone is sure if the dolphins intended to save Martin. Some experts think the dolphins may have been trying to protect their young ones, not Martin.
