Chinese Doctor Uses Robot to Remove Tumor from 3,000 Miles Away

In groundbreaking news for people in rural areas who do not have many doctors, the Shanghai Chest Hospital is the first hospital in China to use a robot remotely for surgery. Dr. Luo Qingquan, who works in Shanghai, used a robot to remove a lung tumor from a patient who was 3,000 miles away. The patient was in a hospital in Kashgar, Xinjiang. This was possible because of a special robot called the 5G Medbot.
With robots, surgeries can be performed remotely, opening the door to expert medical care for those who live far from big cities.
