pass out: to lose consciousness
CPR is not just for humans! Find out how a team in Thailand gave a giant elephant a second chance at life.
In Thailand’s Khao Yai National Park, a baby elephant fell into a deep hole, and its mother tried to help, but she too fell in.
A veterinary team came together to save them. They used heavy machinery to lift the mother elephant out of the hole, but she passed out after hitting her head. The veterinarians knew they had to act fast. They used CPR, but not like with humans. They jumped up and down on her chest! Amazingly, it worked.
Three hours later, both mother and child were safe. Watch the video to see their unique elephant CPR technique in action.
