Flying Car or Robot Horse: Which Is the Future of Travel?
pie in the sky: an idea or plan that sounds nice but is not realistic or likely to happen
Is the future of transportation shaped like a horse? Kawasaki thinks so. The company has designed a new robot that will walk on four legs and is built for riding.
In a Kawasaki video shown at the World Expo, the horse and human rider run and jump across beautiful landscapes. Unfortunately, the real robot prototype doesn’t even walk yet. The video was made with CGI. Kawasaki says it is only a concept that they hope to build by 2050.
For now, the robot horse is just pie in the sky, but the AirCar is not. This flying car was made by a company in Slovakia, and it has already flown over 170 times. It has wings that open for flight and close for driving on land. The company plans to release it in early 2026 with a price tag between $800,000 and $1 million.
