Prime Minister Modi Prays Underwater at the Lost City of Dwarka
publicity stunt: an event designed to attract public attention to a person or organization
Last Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dove into the Arabian Sea to visit the ancient city of Dwarka, which dates back to between 3,000 and 1,500 BC. Wearing traditional clothes and a diving helmet, Modi performed a prayer at a site that is believed to be where Lord Krishna once lived.
While under the sea, Modi meditated in silence. After the dive, he shared his experience on social media. He said, “I felt connected to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur and timeless devotion.” Modi’s underwater trip has got people talking. While some were impressed, others called it a publicity stunt before the upcoming election in April.
To pray in the city of Dwarka, which is immersed in the waters, was a very divine experience. I felt connected to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur and timeless devotion. May Bhagwan Shri Krishna bless us all. pic.twitter.com/yUO9DJnYWo
