Chilling Video Shows Man Pulled Into Clouds and Covered in Ice
shake (someone) up: to make someone feel scared, shocked, or very upset because of something sudden or serious
Peng Yujiang expected a quiet day testing paragliding equipment on the ground. He did not plan to fly that day, but a sudden gust of wind changed everything. It pulled him into the air and carried him more than 8,500 meters high without oxygen. He found himself spinning inside a freezing cloud, covered in ice, and unsure which way he was flying.
A camera on his helmet recorded his dangerous journey. The temperature reached -35 degrees Celsius. His hands were nearly frozen, but he managed to regain control and land. He later said the most terrifying moment was trying to stop the glider from spiraling.
The near-death experience clearly shook him up. “It’s still frightening to think about,” he said. He also added, “I definitely won’t fly for a while.”
