Fans Sue Madonna For Showing Up Late
show up: to arrive or appear at an event or place
Madonna has been an icon of pop music since the 1980s, but as she gets older, so do her fans. When she showed up two hours late to a recent concert, some were frustrated. While they might have been happy to dance until dawn in their youth, some of them now have adult responsibilities and strict bedtimes. Two fans are suing Madonna for false advertising. They write that “many ticketholders who attended concerts on a weeknight had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities the next day.” They say they would never have bought tickets if they had known the show would start so late. This is not the first time the Queen of Pop has been sued for showing up late to a concert. In 2019, she defended herself with the following statement. “Here’s something that you all need to understand. A queen is never late.”
