Meet Kiki, the sheep who learned to drive. Kiki was born paralyzed after her mother caught a virus from a mosquito bite. She was so weak at birth that it was uncertain if she would survive. An animal sanctuary in Massachusetts worked to give her independence with a motorized wheelchair.
LaughingSquid.com reports, “Kiki took to it right away.” By shifting her head, she controls the chair’s joystick and can travel in any direction she wants. When she finds a sunny spot, she stops and rests.
Kiki’s story has inspired visitors and children in schools. Other sanctuaries have contacted the team to learn how to create similar wheelchairs for their own animals.
