Goodbye Hugs Have a Time Limit at New Zealand Airport
the clock is ticking: there is limited time to do something
Attention all lovebirds: the clock is ticking. A new rule at Dunedin Airport in New Zealand airport has created international news. The rule limits hugs to three minutes in the drop-off zone. Airport Executive Dan De Bono explained that the change helps with traffic flow and safety. He also said the airport wants people to say goodbye quickly so there is space for others.
De Bono assured travelers that there is no “hug police.” If you need more time to say goodbye, you can use the car parking lot. Some people think this rule is unfair, but studies say a hug only needs 20 seconds to release oxytocin, known as the “cuddle hormone.”
What do you think? Should hugs have a time limit in busy areas like airports?
