there’s a catch: there is a hidden problem or unexpected difficulty with an offer or situation

A shoe store in Paris recently invited shoplifters to steal whatever they wanted. But there was a catch. They don’t have a no chase policy. And their security guard for the day was Olympic sprinter Méba-Mickaël Zézé. Outrun the guard and the shoes are yours. There were 76 challengers and 2 were able to run home with a pair of free shoes. The public relations stunt was a clever way to promote the store ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympics.
