What an 82-Year-Old Rock Star and a 96-Year-Old Grandmother Share
young at heart: feeling and behaving in a lively, youthful way regardless of your age
Mick Jagger is 82 years old, but on stage, you would never guess it. For two hours, he runs, dances, and skips from one end of the stage to the other. He almost never looks out of breath.
How does he do it? Jagger practices dancing and works out almost every day. He also credits his genes. His father was a fitness teacher who lived to 93. Someone once asked how it feels to perform at 80. “Like being on stage at 78,” he joked.
When he was young, Jagger was famous for his wild life. There were big parties, late nights, and trouble with the police. Many rock stars from that time destroyed their health. Jagger did not. Decades later, he is still young at heart.
In Connecticut, 96-year-old Lillian Droniak also has the stamina of a much younger person, and she loves a good party. One day, her nursing home sent her a letter threatening to kick her out. They said parties were not allowed and she could not serve alcohol to the other residents.
Lillian was defiant. She ripped the letter up in a video she shared with her nearly four million followers. She said, “I can do whatever I want. I pay 12,000 dollars to live here and I can party if I want to. My girlfriends are coming over tonight! We’re gonna drink and gossip. It’s not a party, but we do get rowdy. I can’t help it. I love to party! You can’t stop me!”
See these two party animals refuse to slow down in the videos below.
