Want to Live Longer and Happier? It’s All About Connections!
An 85-year Harvard study found the secret to a happy life: good relationships. Positive connections with others make us happier, healthier, and help us live longer. So, it’s essential to practice “social fitness” by paying attention to our relationships.
There are seven types of support in relationships:
- Safety and security
- Learning and growth
- Emotional closeness
- Shared experiences
- Romantic intimacy
- Help (informational and practical)
- Fun and relaxation
Take time to think about your relationships and which types of support they offer. If you notice any gaps, try to improve those connections by reaching out to the people in your life. Remember, it’s never too late to make your relationships better!
