Giant Olmec Head Destroying Tesla Isn’t AI Generated
trolling: making insulting comments online to upset or provoke others
The colossal heads sculpted by the Olmec civilization are up to 3.4 meters tall and weigh up to 50 tons. The giant heads date back to at least 900 BC. Their stoic faces whisper tales of a society that laid the foundation for the civilizations that followed.
So what is behind the image of an Olmec head crushing a Tesla that has gone viral on social media? Some thought the photo was created by AI, but it’s not. It’s the work of Mexican artist Chavis Mármol. He used a crane to drop the Olmec head replica on the Tesla. Mármol admits that he likes trolling Elon Musk and Tesla’s new Mexican car factory, but his art also has a deeper meaning. He believes that consumerism and technology shouldn’t overshadow our heritage. He says, “What matters is where we came from, who we are, and who we have been for generations.”
